A poor man layed on the road, thirsty and sober. His pledge passed him by, ignoring him. Then approached a bartender, who said he hadn't the time to help him but another would come soon. The third man, a brother of a rival fraternity, hands him a beer; "Why do you help me when none others would?". The man said simply "Because I am my brother's keeper".
